Magnet App Reviews

I like this app a lot and expected to install it on all my computers going forward. So far it’s worked well with my multiple displays. The keyborad shortcuts (which are adjustible) are great. My one request would be the ability to dissable the hot corners / snap edges. I use the mouse as infrequently as I possible and Magnet’s keyboard shortcuts are great by themselves. With proficiency using keyboard shortcuts, taking the extra time to grab the mouse to move a window means the actions are deliberate and cannot be preformed by Magnet; I don’t want Magnet interfearing. But there are no options to dissable hot corners/edges. Magnet has two sets of preferences: change keyborad shortcuts and launch at login. There is also one non preference option is “ignore <window name>” in the menu; I haven’t used that. Magnet is very clean and simple. For that reason I would reccomend it to someone who will drag windows to edges or corner to have them resize in place beautifuly. For me, and any others that want to use keyboard shortcuts, or have more flexability with what the window maneger is doing I’ll recoment BetterSnapTool which can dissable hot edges and has many other options.

Would be great if it could be like Windows, where you drag a window to the top of the screen, then it gets extended the full length of your screen, instead of full screen. I constantly move/copy files from one window to another, and it doesn’t do me much good to have full screen windows, I’d rather they were full length. Thanks!

A tool this useful should be built into OSX. Easily worth the cost. I didn’t realize how much I needed an app like this until I had it. Now I cannot imagine not having Magnet. I use it everytime I am on my Mac. Especially now that I am familiar with the Keyboard functions I can manipulate each window using keyboard buttons. It is fantasticly beneficial having this app.

Magnet does everything I need it to do and nothing more! It just works.

Reviews sounded great. Bought the app while on sale. Tried it for 2 days. Doesnt seem that useful. Uninstalled. Might give it one more try later but generally did seem to add much value to my daily work.

This app is very useful. But this company will NOT support you if you have trouble.

It took me a while to find Magnet, and I really like it. It doesnt ALWAYS work, sometimes I have to select a window, then click the magnet icon to move it where I want it, but it USUALLY works, and its only a tiny inconvenience when it doesnt. Compared to manually moving and positioning windows, and for the price, Im very happy with this purchase. One feature that would be helpful for me, would be to be able to re-size and center windows that I cant see. Sometimes I change monitors and the top of a window is no longer accessible, and I cant move it anywhere (This is an OSX thing), but if Magnet let me somehow tell it to move that window back into view it would be even more valuable.

I bought Magnet out of frustration. I’d been working with three open documents, cutting and pasting from one to another, and comparing against a third. What a nightmare. Anyway, a little research led me to Magnet. After installation, I had an immediate boost in productivity. Really good app. A great way to manage limited screen space.

It works as intended. I use it on my MacBook the most (small screen), but still find it useful on my 27”er. I do a lot of editing across several documents and have found it helps with my organization.

Many of us use Mac and Windows interchangably, and for those who do, Magnet adds some must-have functionality that I really missed when working on Mac - the ability to easily snap windows to different parts of the screen with mouse or keystrokes. It’s a third-party tool, so functionality isn’t universal across all applications. I’ve found it very useful since I started using it a few weeks ago.

Keyboard shortcuts are powerful. I love the customization which they gave. Got at 80% discount - 1.39 dollar well spent :)

Will change to 5/5 stars when I can hide the menu bar icon AND Please dont cause magnet to snap when resizing windows manually by dragging

100% of my window rearrangments is done through this, as it is so easy to use

I’m so glad I ending up getting this app. It saves so much time and saves me from so much frustration working on my laptop. I mostly use the snap to left and snap to right functions.

I use Magnet to make best use of my 30” work monitor. 4 windows tiled!

Very helpful when you’re working on a small laptop (11”). Makes organizing your screen a lot easier.

I’m baffled that I need to buy an app that do what Linux and Windows do out of the box. That been said, I’m very happy with this application, works very and and is quite reasonably priced.

Once I got this app my workflow increased a lot. Essential tool.

This app works great! I use it daily, as I have two monitors and at least four-six apps open at any given time. I am very pleased with it and have recommended it to several of my friends.
